Threads Lead Parser Chrome Extension · Last updated: May 2025
Short version: We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data. The extension reads publicly visible content on Threads.com inside your browser only. The only network request it makes is a license key validation call to our own server.
1. What the Extension Does
Threads Lead Parser is a Chrome extension that scans the public feed on
Threads.com for posts matching keywords you specify. Matching posts (author username and post text) are displayed in the extension's side panel and can be exported as a CSV file. All processing happens locally in your browser.
2. Data We Collect
We collect
no personal information from users. Specifically:
- We do not collect your name, email, or any identifiers.
- We do not track browsing history.
- We do not access or store the content of Threads posts beyond displaying them temporarily in the side panel on your device.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or third-party tracking.
3. License Key Validation
If you purchase a paid subscription, the extension sends your license key to our validation server to check whether the key is valid and has not expired:
- URL: https://threads-lead-parser-bot-production-db1a.up.railway.app/validate?key=YOUR_KEY
- Data sent: only the license key string you entered.
- Data returned: validity status and expiry date.
- The key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device only.
- Validation is called at most once every 48 hours.
The validation server does not log IP addresses or associate requests with individuals. Server-side, the database contains only: license key, Telegram user ID of the purchaser, creation date, and expiry date.
4. Permissions Justification
- sidePanel — to display the extension's UI in the Chrome side panel.
- storage — to save your keywords and license key locally on your device.
- activeTab — to read the currently open Threads.com tab.
- scripting — to inject the content script that scans posts on Threads.com.
- tabs — to open Threads search tabs when you click "Search" in the panel.
- host_permissions (threads.com / threads.net) — required to run the content script on Threads pages.
- host_permissions (railway.app domain) — required only for license key validation requests.
5. Third-Party Services
The extension interacts only with:
- Threads.com — the website you are already browsing.
- Our Railway-hosted validation server — for license checks (described above).
- Telegram — only if you choose to purchase a subscription via our Telegram bot; this interaction happens entirely outside the extension in the Telegram app.
6. Children's Privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the new version at the same URL. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
